Windows 10 PC and Mobile Mail and Calendar apps get updates with some small improvements

While we are waiting for Microsoft to release a new preview build of Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile, the company is pushing out new updates to its core app for the operating system. Today, new versions of the Mail and Calendar apps are being pushed out.

There are new Modern style icons for these apps, and tapping on the Settings icon causes the menu to fly in from the right. Previously, the menu came in from the left. The experience makes it feel much more familiar to those currently using Windows 8.1 as this reminiscent of the Charms bar behavior.

Also, there is a new swipe tutorial to help new users for accessing the app’s features. The new version number for the PC app is 17.4210.42281.0.

For Windows 10 Mobile, the new Mail app version number is 17.4210.42282.0. However, this is a minor update, with some color added to the app’s icons, some cleaner graphics and overall stability and speed improvements.
