Renders have appeared online for what could be the Xiaomi Mi Band 2, and this year it may feature a touchscreen as well.
Xiaomi has had stunning success with its Mi Band fitness tracker, having already shipped more than 6 million of these $ 15 units. The Mi Band was originally released back in July 2014, nearly a year ago, so it would make sense that the company is already working on, or close to releasing, a successor for it. New renders have surfaced, showing off what could be the Mi Band 2. The big difference here is the screen, which the original Mi Band lacked, and it is said to be a touchscreen as well. It is also rumored that the Mi Band 2 will feature an NFC chip, which could allow users to connect Mi Band to Mi Band.
With the new technology being baked in, odds are that this year’s Mi Band will come with a higher price tag, but there is no estimate as to what the pricing may be at. Having a render surface, and the original band closing in on the one year mark leads us to think that we could see some additional details bout the Mi Band 2 surface sooner than later.
