2013 Moto X Android 5.1 update begins rolling out in the U.S., Brazil, and Canada

2013 Moto X owners, your wait is finally over: Android 5.1 Lollipop is on its way.

Motorola’s David Schuster once again took to Google Plus today to announce that the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the 2013 Moto X is now rolling out for U.S. and Brazil retail devices, along with the Rogers variant in Canada.

It’s been quite the wait for Android 5.1 on the first generation Moto X, and this is no doubt good news for those with the device. Those with carrier devices (except Rogers) will still have to wait a bit longer, but with a full blown rollout to unlocked devices in the U.S. and Brazil, it shouldn’t be too much longer now before it hits carrier devices.

As a refresher, Android 5.1 mostly contains some minor tweaks to quick settings and other odds and ends. If you’d like to check out the full release notes for the Moto X, those are available from Motorola. In the meantime, be sure to let us know how the update is treating you in our forums or in the comments below.
