Microsoft first announced that the Xbox One would be able to stream games to a Windows 10 PC later this year. Now the company is offering Xbox One preview members a chance to try out this game streaming feature for the first time via an update later today.
Microsoft has already posted an FAQ page on this feature ahead of the update’s release. It states that while most Xbox One games will be able to be streamed to a Windows 10 PC there will be a few exceptions, such as “Kinect titles and games requiring other special hardware not supported on the PC.”
The Twitch and GameDVR features will be disabled on the Xbox One when gaming streaming is enabled. However, the FAQ adds, ” If your Windows 10 PC meets the requirements of GameDVR for Windows 10, you will be able to record epic moments from game streaming on your PC.” An Xbox One wired controller on a PC is also required to play the streaming games.
