Microsoft Music Deals 1.3 now available with new features and fixes

For those looking for bargains on albums Microsoft’s Music Deals – available on Windows Phone and Windows 8.1 – is the sort of must-have app that everyone should have installed. Each week, the music team toss out discounted albums from new artist and throwbacks from yesteryear.

Today, version 1.3 has been released markings its first update since November. What does it bring? Glad you asked.

Microsoft Music Deals 1.3

  • Featured music apps

  • UX improvements

The featured music apps is a section near the bottom that simply lists popular music-orientated apps on the Store. Think of it as another entry point for discovery and raising the visibility of certain apps. Although not groundbreaking, it is a nice nod to developers.

UX improvements include some reorganization and a more thorough tutorial when you first launch Music Deals. The timer on the deals also appears to be more reliable, and overall the app looks to be more polished.

This week you can grab some pretty sweet offerings*, including:

  • Muse’s new album ‘Drones’ for $ 7.99

  • Rolling Stones collection (various albums for $ 6.99 each)

  • Weezer (Blue Album) for $ 6.99

Music Deals is a clever app, and you cannot beat that Drone’s deal for $ 7.99. Grab the app for your Windows Phone and Windows 8.1 device and let us know what you think.

*Note: You do not need a Music Pass to buy albums through Microsoft Music Deals, just a Microsoft Account. Music is purchased like apps through the Store.

512MB RAM devices supported
