It looks like a new Surface 3 model has popped up on several German retail sites. Sitting in between the entry level and top-end models, this mid-tier variant sports 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM.
Spotted by the folks at German blog Winfuture.de, the model carries an entirely new SKU (LC5-00003), making it likely that this is in fact a new model, rather than a mistaken listing. While we haven’t seen an official announcement of this model from Microsoft, it currently appears to be in stock (or soon to be in stock) and ready to ship from several German retailers for a wide range of prices—though it looks likely that the base price is around €659. That sits comfortably between the €599 and €779 prices for the entry level and high-end models, respectively.
Other than the bump up in RAM, this mid-tier model sports the same specs as it’s brethren. However, this model could be attractive to those looking for a bit of extra performance without the added storage of the high-end model. It’ll be interesting to see if this is a limited offering for certain European regions, or if it will make its way to other parts of the world as well.
