A quick look at Spigen's Slim Armor Case for Galaxy S6 edge

Utilizing dual-layers and a flush-folding kickstand, the Slim Armor Case from Spigen makes protection look good with the Galaxy S6 edge.

We’re all about keeping things slim, especially when it comes to cases for the Galaxy S6 edge. With this form-fitting hybrid, you not only get protection against minor impacts, but also an enhanced grip that never gets hung up in your pockets. Take a peek of how it looks on the S6 edge, along with some pros and cons we’ve found after extensive use.

The Slim Armor Case comes with a skin and shell that can be separated for easier installation, but even kept together — snapping in the Galaxy S6 edge was effortless. Inside the TPU is Spigen’s famous webbed design that helps dissipate impacts when they occur, along with some extra-thick molding at the top and bottom. When placed face-down on any flat surface, the rim along the top and bottom keep the display raised about an eighth of an inch — plenty of height to steer clear of scuffs and scratches.

Both the TPU and polycarbonate shell are smooth to the touch, but offer a unique grip at the same time — with a little help from the curved display of the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge. My biggest quirks with this case are the side buttons. They’re so uniform with the rest of the case that it’s hard to distinguish whether you’re hitting the right spot or not. Even though they’re labeled, there’s not enough texture here to make it truly easy to press — especially at a distance. Personally, I’d prefer the labels to be raised just slightly, rather than embossed.

There’s a large opening on the shell for the rear camera, flash and heart rate sensor that keeps them plenty safe from scratches while on any surface. Towards the bottom is the fold-out kickstand which is to be used for landscape viewing. While the stand itself does feel slightly flimsy, it holds the Galaxy S6 edge up just fine and compliments the rest of the case’s colors quite nicely. When it’s not in use, it sits perfectly flush with the exterior shell, providing an audible snap when it’s seated properly.

The Spigen Slim Armor comes in a variety of colors including: gunmetal (as pictured), mint, metal slate, and shimmery white.
