Android Police coverage: Knights of Pen & Paper 2 Makes A Saving Throw, Ventures Into The Play Store
The first Knights of Pen & Paper was a refreshingly original mix of “real” tabletop RPGs and the video games that evolved out of them. The sequel adds more in just about every dimension: the graphics are richer, the story is more fleshed-out, and the old-fashioned turn-based combat (played with fantasy graphics on a literal RPG table) is more robust. Players looking for a little meta with their monster hunting will be pleased.

Amazon’s latest exclusive game for its Fire hardware series is Til Morning’s Light, a somewhat tame horror story starring a teenager who has to escape a creepy mansion before the break of dawn. It’s a fairly standard game that focuses on exploration and puzzles to advance the plot, but the presentation is pretty good, and I’d be loathe to knock a premium game for a semi-exclusive platform… even if iOS users get the privilege of playing it while regular Android users don’t.

It’s adapted from a popular browser game, and comes from the developer of interesting titles like Detective Grimoire and Infectionator. Free with no in-app purchases.

Standpoint
Standpoint uses the orientation switch mechanic as the basis for its puzzle gameplay, but unlike most of the similar titles we’ve seen thus far, it does so in a first-person 3D view. While the presentation is relatively simple, the game purports to be a representation of the classical stages of grief. If you’ve been aching for one of the new crop of introspective puzzlers for your phone, give it a go. Note: the developer says that the IAP tag in the Play Store is an error.

Indulge Lady Tallowmere and see how far through her lovingly violent dungeons you can delve in this 2D indie action roguelike-inspired platformer. New rooms are procedurally generated every time you play, meaning you’ll have to be on your guard for every randomly-placed enemy, elite, boss, and treasure chest you’ll come across. Tiny Dangerous Dungeons
Tiny Dangerous Dungeons wears its inspiration on its sleeve, from its Castlevania-style gameplay and setting to its greyscale Game Boy color palette.
