Popular third-party keyboard Swype has been updated today with two-word phrase prediction, easier number entry, and more.
If you use Swype as your third-party keyboard of choice, you’ll be happy to know that it has snagged a couple of improvements to its prediction capabilities today. Swype will now be able to predict two-word phrases, as well as serve up number suggestions for times and dollar amounts if you tap keys with numbers as secondary characters.
Here’s the full breakdown of what’s new in Swype version 1.9:
- Easy number entry – tapping on keys that have numbers as secondary characters will provide a number / symbol suggestion (i.e. tapping “ejqp” suggests “3:10″, “swpp” suggests “$ 200″)
- Phrase prediction – Swype can now predict two-word phrases (ex: entering “How” could predict “are you” )
- Chinese Cloud Prediction
- Various crash and bug fixes (thanks for reporting!)
No matter how you slice it, those are a couple of nifty additions to Swype’s prediction capabilities. If you already own Swype, you can grab the update now. If you’re new to Swype, however, you can pick it up for $ 0.99 from the Google Play badge above, or try out the 30-day trial.
