Oppo has announced two new high-end smartphones, the Oppo R7 and R7 Plus. The former is a 5-inch AMOLED handset, while the latter is a 6-inch phablet.
Both devices have hit the rumor mill numerous times in the run up to today’s official unveiling. The Oppo R7 is powered by the Snapdragon 615 CPU, a 64-bit octa-core processor accompanied by 3GB of RAM. You’ve then got 16 GB of internal storage, complimented by the available MicroSD slot. The main shooter is a 13MP camera with an f/2.2 lens. Battery-wise, there’s a 2,320mAh power plant installed.
As for the R7 Plus, Oppo has gone all out with the 6-inch display (1080p). Specifications are similar to those sported by the R7, but there are a handful of improvements, including 32GB of internal storage. The R7 Plus also has a more advanced camera setup, with laser autofocus and dual-LED flash. The battery is where things get interesting with a 4,100mAh cell installed. As an added bonus, there’s a fingerprint sensor on the rear of the Plus.
The Oppo R7 is priced at CNY 2,499 ($ 400), while the Oppo R7 Plus will set you back by CNY 2,999 ($ 480). Both smartphones will be available in China starting tomorrow and come in gold and silver. International markets will see the new Oppo hardware in June.
