Windows 10 Preview keeps getting better after every update. We’ve just installed the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 10122 on our HP Spectre x360. You can see the full list of what’s new here, but we’ve also put it in front of our camera so you can see it in action. The most noticeable changes are seen in Start screen, Continuum, and the Project Spartan browser.
Some of the changes appear in the Start screen. The first thing that we noticed is that the tiles appear larger in Tablet mode. The left-hand pane is also now collapsed. You can bring it back by clicking the icon at the top left corner. The File Explorer and Settings have also been moved to the bottom left of Start screen next to Power and All Apps.
Project Spartan, which will be called Microsoft Edge in the final build, retains the original name in this build. This update now includes the feature called the New Tab page. It shows top sites, featured apps, and content from MSN. You might remember seeing this feature from Joe Belfiore’s presentation at Build 2015. InPrivate mode has also been added if you don’t want certain websites to show up in your history. This build also lets you pin websites to the Start screen, adds history view, and an audio indicator on tabs that have web pages making sounds or playing music.
The Insider Hub has also been updated in Windows 10 Insider Preview build 10122. It uses a lot of the same design as the other Universal Windows apps included in Windows 10.
We’ll keep our eyes open for any other interesting changes in this build. Don’t forget that this is still a preview, so keep sending feedback.
