Frontier Developments has released their space simulator Elite: Dangerous for Mac.
Following a limited beta release early last month, Elite: Dangerous is now widely available for OS X. The game puts you in the pilot seat of a starship, letting you explore and fight your way through a vast, open Milky Way galaxy, featuring over 400 billion star systems.
In Elite, you get to choose how you want to play. You can explore the galaxy, complete missions for various factions, engage in combat, or even become a space pirate. You’ll have access to a vast array of ships, from shuttles to fighters to freighters.
Below are the system requirements needed to run Elite: Dangerous on your Mac:
- OS: OS X Yosemite (version 10.10.3)
- Processor: 2.3Ghz quad-core Intel Core i5 CPU
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Graphics: Nvidia GT 650M 1GB (or equivalent)
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Hard Drive: 8 GB available space
Elite: Dangerous is available both from Steam, as well as from Frontier Developments, for $ 59.99.
