New pictures have surfaced of an alleged Galaxy S6 Active, showing a rugged device sporting AT&T branding.
Alleged photos of an AT&T-branded Galaxy S6 Active have surfaced today, showing off a rugged black exterior, along with the Active series’ signature physical buttons.
The images, which were acquired by GSMArena, show that the device keeps the same placement for the camera and fingerprint sensor on the back, now surrounded by a thick black shell sporting an AT&T logo just below. With the addition of physical keys on the front, however, it seems like the S6 Active may lack a fingerprint reader, much like last year’s Galaxy S5 Active.
While much isn’t given away in the way of specs, GSMArena’s source claims that the Galaxy S6 Active will sport a 3,500mAh battery, as opposed to the Galaxy S6’s 2,550mAh unit. A leak from earlier this year seems to corroborate the battery specs, while also claiming that the handset’s internals will be largely identical to the standard Galaxy S6.
If this leak is the real deal, it looks like AT&T customers are in for quite the rugged beast from Samsung. In any event, we shouldn’t have too much longer to wait for more information, as the S5 Active, and the earlier S4 Active saw announcements toward the end of May and beginning of June, respectively.
