Rumor: Red Pepper NX To Sport 3GB Of RAM & A 64-Bit SoC

Baidu is another China-based company that you might have heard of at some point. This company was founded back in 2010, and has been preoccupied with all sorts of projects. This company actually develops an internet search engine for China, amongst other things. Speaking of which, this company also manufactures smartphones. The company’s ‘Red Pepper’ series of devices is well-known in China, and even though they’ve been releasing mostly low and mid-range devices thus far, the sales have been somewhat decent. The company has unveiled the Red Pepper 9 smartphone back in June, a device which sports a 4, 700mAh battery and mid-range specs all around. Well, it seems like this Baidu intends to launch an even more powerful device soon, read on.

The company is allegedly going to unveil the Red Pepper NX smartphone soon. The device actually leaked in China, along with its partial specifications. According to the leaked info, this smartphone will feature a 5. 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The phone will be fueled by MediaTek’s 64-bit octa-core processor, though we still don’t know which chip exactly at this point. The 13-megapixel camera (even two cameras are possible) will be located on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel shooter will be available up front. The phone will offer dual-SIM connectivity, along with dual-band 4G, and a fingerprint scanner will also be included in this package (quite probably on the back of the phone).

As far as its design goes, well, check it out for yourself in the gallery down below. It seems like Baidu Red Pepper NX will be made mainly out of plastic, but metal will also be part of the design. You can see that the phone sports three capacitive buttons below the display, menu, home and back, respectively. The power / lock and volume rocker physical buttons are available on the right-hand side of this phone, and even despite the fact pricing for this phone hasn’t leaked, it’s expected to cost over a 1, 000 Yuan (over $ 157).
