With the College Football season just getting started – we’re entering week 3 of the season and the national champs, Ohio State, are still undefeated – it’s time to take a look at some apps to keep up with College Sports. Like College Football, Basketball and the many others that are offered at Universities around the country.
College Sports Live
This app is from CBS Interactive, and it solely focuses on College Sports. So you won’t find anything from the NFL, MLB, or NBA in here. It’s media-centric, meaning there are tons of clips as well as photos in the app that you can watch from thousands, if not millions of games going on in college. The app description says there are over 50, 000 clips available in this app.
NCAA Sports
The NCAA also have their own app for keeping up to date on every college sport. They have an additional app for the Final Four in March/April. The app allows you to see all kinds of highlights from football games around the country as well as basketball and the many other sports available in college these days.
ACC Sports
If you’re a fan of the ACC, or you’re an alumni of an ACC school, this is an app you’ll want to check out. It does virtually the same thing as the NCAA and CBS apps listed above, but it’s catered to just ACC schools. It also includes live ACC Network Football and Basketball coverage from right in the app.
Yahoo Sports
Yahoo recently redid all of their apps, and they look amazing. The Yahoo Sports app covers everything, literally. Including College Sports. So you are able to keep up with Ohio State’s dream of a repeat in the 2016 College Football Playoff. As well as keeping up with the professional sports like the NFL, NBA and MLB.
FanSided | Sports & Ent. News
FanSided is a bit like SBNation, they have specific sites for many of the teams out there. And the news and coverage is all found here in the FanSided app. So you can stay up to date with your favorite team. Whether that be Oregon, Central Michigan or any other school. You can also choose to get notifications for certain teams.
theScore: Sports & Scores
This is one of my favorite sports apps. It utilizes Material Design quite nicely, and has all kinds of coverage here of just about every team. Within the app you can keep up with news of your teams, as well as live scores, standings, and so much more. It’s a one-stop-shop for keeping up with your favorite teams.
WatchESPN
So we’ve talked about keeping up with your favorite teams. But what about being able to watch their games when you aren’t home? WatchESPN is great for this. As you can watch many games live from your smartphone or tablet, as long as you have a cable subscription. This includes using Sling TV, which is a pretty good feature for Sling TV, in my opinion.
Team Stream by Bleacher Report
So you want to keep up with your team, and only your team right? Well Team Stream from Bleacher Report does just that. It allows you to set up with teams or schools you want to keep up with and shows just the news and stats for those teams and schools. It’s a great way to weed out all the teams that you don’t care about.
NBC Sports Live Extra
This one is mostly for Notre Dame fans, as they have that exclusive agreement with NBC. But you can still keep up with other teams via the NBC Sports Live Extra app. This is going to come in real handy for the olympics next year as well. For those that are Notre Dame fans, you’ll be able to watch their games straight through the app.
